EDIT: I got featured on the front page of BuzzFeed! [link]
Thanks guys for all the love! I'll post more pictures when I get the chance!

And Part 1 of the tutorial is up!

If you want to like/reblog this on Tumblr, please do it from my page, Thanks!: [link]

Here's a front view of the gun with the orange LEDs. :D

Note: This is not the NECA replica gun. I made this one :D

It was a big hit at SDCC, people were stopping me everywhere to ask me where I got it, and the look on their faces when I told them I made it was priceless!

I'm going to do a write-up for this, so let me know in the comments if there's anything specific you want me to write about!

Here's a video of it in action: [link]

More photos! :

WIPs:

fun fact: The reason this replica is so nice is because many of the parts you see here were 3D printed! [link]

And thanks to =rinoa-lewis and ~Null-Entity for their help!

Unfortunately, no. ^^; With the high cost of the 3-D printed parts and all the work that goes with painting, sanding, electronics, etc., I would have to charge about $3000 to make it truly worthwhile. However, you can purchase the 3D printed parts from Shapeways for about $550 and go from there if you really want to make your own! :D

Wow~ , and one more question, how much work, and how many hours were put into this wonderfull Aperture Portal Device?

I ordered the parts in February and finished it just in time for SD Comic-Con in July (literally up to the evening before!) So I'd say probably between 30 and 50 hours total. (A lot of that time was spent sanding, priming, and painting all the parts)
